1,000 Pumpkin Pies Shared in Urbandale and Indianola

Have you ever wondered what it really takes to bring a community together, especially during the busy Thanksgiving season? I’m proud to say our seventh annual Pumpkin Pie Giveaway was a success.

Over two days, we handed out 1,000 pies, a rewarding effort that filled the space with rows of pumpkin goodness. Here’s a glimpse into our experience.

Day one: Urbandale. On day one, we hosted our pie pickup in Urbandale. A long line of cars waited as families arrived to pick up their pies. One by one, vehicles moved through, and each pie handed out felt like a simple but meaningful way to say thank you to our community.

Day two: Indianola. Day two took us to Indianola, where another steady line of cars formed. Families came through to pick up their pies, and the turnout showed just how much this giveaway means across different communities. Seeing both locations come together over two days highlighted the reach of this event.

Giving back to our community. At the heart of this event is the belief that community is everything. Thanks to your generosity, our Thanksgiving food drive benefited the Salvation Army and the Helping Hand of Warren County. The donated items helped support families in need and turned a pie giveaway into something even more impactful.

Sharing joy across our community. It truly was a wonderful day of giving. I love having the opportunity to give back to our community every year, and this event remains one of my favorites. Moments shared by children, families, and even pets enjoying their pumpkin pies captured the spirit of the day.
